Meanwhile, people up in the Gold Coast, Wollongong still enjoy $10 entry fees….. In Melbourne, the max is $20 as far as i know. FUCK Sydney sucks sometimes. I hope other promoters don’t up their prices as well thanks to this action. Otherwise, it is just fucked up.

I wrote an article for the I Heart Uni Magazine, listing clubs to recommend, for their edition which comes out this week. Article was submitted a few weeks ago. Target audience was asian uni students and I was pretty much restricted to outside the CBD. Quite difficult as Asians are as rare as hen’s teeth in the cross or on oxford st.

So anyway, my recommendations were:

1. Havana for Friday and Saturday: Havana Fridays for RnB is no longer. I went to their final night and it was shit as. For Saturdays, my recommendation is still to go here, but the crowd is still Euro and the music still House and Trance if you are into that.

If to find a replacement, I would say Slide Bar on the monthly ‘Bounce‘ Korean night events are the way to go. Unfortunately, they only come once a month.

Also, The Tunnel have RnB on Fridays, but I have not been yet to ascertain a recommendation.

2. Moulin Rouge for either Friday / Saturday: I wouldnt send an RnB lover here. They all hate it. If you like house and if you like dancing, then yes check it out. It’s a great dirty atmosphere. If you don’t like to dance, then avoid this place, as it is quite loud. Crowd is Euro/Aussie

3. The Gaff on Tuesdays: The Gaff Tuesdays is one of the best all round venues I’ve been to. People, cheap drinks, friendly people, wet t-shirt comps and some dancefloor action. It’s good as a safe recommendation for people on Tuesday nights. I still hold this as a recommendations. Crowd is still backpackers.

Thoughts
Most importantly, a good night is usually when you are in an open mood to meet people, and have fun with or without alcohol.

She said she could have listed at least 4 other places where the birthday girl could have celebrated her 40th. She refused to tell me though, but she hinted at one place where you have dinner and later a DJ comes out and plays some party tunes (somewhere in the Cross), but other than that, she didn’t give me any names.

I have never been so excited about winning something. Will keep you updated on what I win! I suspect it is that Saturday pass to Soho Saturdays. Yay -.- At least its not the trademark one.

I would personally avoid the jumping moves but the others are quite effective.

(11.30pm) Got to the door. They had just let in some scruffy guys in.

The door lady threw the “are you on the guestlist” excuse. Like fuck of course not, there wasnt any specified on the facebook event page. So no we didn’t get in at 11.30 (dead hour).. which was stupid. They let some scraggy looking guys in but not us? I wonder what the door policy was that night for them to give us the guestlist excuse. Fuck that shit, it was raining and we were all wet, and not happy.

So we went to Star City casino and I won $100 at blackjack. Hooray.

So finally I ordered a new camera.. The Canon IXUS 950 IS… its pretty good at day shots, and it turns on so quickly. wow! Tonight I’ll be testing it out at whatever club I visit … However if you want to take night shots only with a compact camera, apparently the Fujifilm FinePix F11 is the best out there for dark shots without getting one of the huge SLR cameras.

Why does every rnb club force you to empty your pockets ? Do people love to fight while Ice Cube’s “Go To Church” is played ??

Are ethnics naturally more violent in nightclubs? Has it always been like this? Is it because when a fight breaks out, the ethnics are usually more dodgier and have to use weapons compared to caucasians who use bare knuckles and bottles and empty glasses? Probably.

Anyway … the thought just crossed my mind and I had to put it down as a separate post.

How depressing. Was really hoping for the 9 night in a row clubbing thing… will have to be content with 4 nights.

Merry Xmas / Boxing Day

So to start again, I’m going Indian clubbing next long weekend with Mithilesh and Patrick. Bought the tickets so there will be no change of plan. I will be wearing traditiona Indian attire, which is not what it’s for. This should be fun. It’s on at Martin Place bar, so it’s going be hot and smelly. I can’t wait.

I mean, I haven’t even heard of the girl. Now what the hell is an import model? Someone who models with refugees or goods made in China? Seriously, it made the whole thing smack of cheesiness. Man, would this level of promotion happen with every single aspiring model who decided “oh i’ll just go to a club in Australia – the Asians there LOVE import models!” ? God.

However I still want to head to Skygardens – its been that long, plus the bouncers ensure a good guy/girl ratio by rejecting groups of guys or solo men. Guys with sneakers are rejected as to further prevent an influx of men. Maybe they have changed, but probably not.

If I do go, I hope the Jeri Lee segment is short. Even better would be if she caught the latest flu that’s going around right now.
